Picture it…..Secondlife, Christmas Day, 2006
A young man sits and talks to his roommate, who tells him about this virtual game called “SecondLife”. So he then downloaded it, and began his second life as Jesse Garfield.
Somewhere in the area of Detroit, someone else had found SecondLife. And a few weeks later on January 8th, 2007, this person contacted, well, me. Said there was this game he wanted me to see. So I went home and downloaded, beginning my own second life, as Jynxx Beebe.
Then two worlds collide.
Jesse and Jynxx met at a place called “Spunky BT’s”. A gathering place, where live music came from DJ’s. Hosts and Hostesses greeted you as you came in. A place where we built a friendship.
Over the years we drifted apart, to suddenly come back together. Rinse and repeat lol. Real life has a way of nudging between responsibility and recreation. Sometimes, secondlife took a backseat either accidentally, or a resigned on purpose.
But here we are again. As full of hope as we were back in 2007 deciding to branch out from Spunky’s to fulfill Jesse’s dream of his club.
And Jesse’s Cowboy Club, or as we affectionally call it, JCC’s, was born. And grew. It was during this time when we knew we worked well together even though our taste in just about everything was the exact opposite.
Jesse, old world type cowboy if I ever met one. Then there’s me, my avitar decked out in goth wear. Our tastes in music: Garth Brooks to Godsmack.
But…we work. And that was then. This…is now.
This time around we decided to merge our love of music genre. The joke going “he’s a little bit country, I’m a little bit rock and roll”. Then J & J Crossroads became a thing.
We debated builds, debated a lot of things. And it seems like it took forever to get worked out and set up. Eagle Ridge was born. With residential areas, shops, and the main attraction, J & J Crossroads. We are working hard to build a community. Not just another club, not just another sim. We have a paint ball course set up behind the club. With more to come for interactive fun. Every day we try to come up with something that will make a secondlife just that much more fun, more special.
